Robert Pires has revealed that he’s an enormous fan of Arsenal transfer goal Lucas Torreira.
It’s understood the Gunners have agreed a £26million deal to signal Torreira and the Sampdoria star is predicted to finish his transfer to north London after the World Cup.
The 22-year-old has impressed for Uruguay in Russia and was instrumental in his facet’s 2-1 victory over Portugal through which he man-marked Cristiano Ronaldo.
With Uruguay dealing with France within the quarter-finals of the event, Pires singled out Torreira as a participant who may trigger Didier Deschamps’ group issues.
‘I like Torreira a lot,’ the previous France and Arsenal winger mentioned.
‘I was surprised by his performance. He plays it simple and is always well positioned on the pitch.’
Torreira’s father confirmed earlier this week that the midfielder is about for a medical with Arsenal.
‘I want the best for my son and I also know that Arsenal showed a lot of interest in him,’ he instructed Radio Crc.
‘It’s not carried out, neither is it official, as a result of he hasn’t signed something, however there’s an important likelihood that Lucas’ future might be in England.
