The first section of security and security enhancements are coming to the CTA.
Technology goes to play a giant half within the upgrades as greater than 600 new high-definition security cameras are being added to the CTA.
The new pictures are a lot clearer than earlier than. This is a part of the town’s multi-million greenback funding known as the Safe and Secure program, for new lighting, repairs and enhancements, and higher cameras.
The first section of security and security enhancements embody:
- New HD cameras alongside the Blue Line O’Hare Branch on the O’Hare, Jefferson Park, Belmont and Logan Square stations
- New HD cameras on the Clark/Lake station within the Loop
- New HD cameras within the Red and Blue line subways
- New lighting enhancements alongside the Green Line
It’s the primary section of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s plan to modernize the digital camera system and make it solely high-definition. The metropolis plans to finish the mission inside the subsequent two years.
“We all take the Blue Line and it’s a public space and you have to pay to use the service so why not have that extra protection,” stated commuter Hythem Abad.
When the mission is full, there can be 1,000 new cameras and an improve on greater than three,800 older-model cameras all through the system to extend security throughout the CTA.
