NASA spots distant, lonely neutron star

Astronomers utilizing knowledge from NASA’s Chandra X-Ray Observatory and the European Southern Observatory’s very massive telescope discovered this neutron star.

It’s the primary of its type exterior the Milky Way galaxy, and is situated some 200,000 mild years from earth.

Neutron stars are the extremely dense cores of huge stars that collapse and bear a supernova explosion. 

In this case, it is believed the explosion occurred some 2,000 years in the past.
