In 2014, Keltie Knight was “really scared” by the mysterious signs afflicting her physique. The tv correspondent, who joined Entertainment Tonight in 2017, was exhausted, gaining weight and “my hair started falling out,” she reveals within the new challenge of Us Weekly.
But it was when she started to lose sight in her left eye and was unable to learn the teleprompter at work that the previous Bachelor contestant reveals she reached her breaking level: “I got really suicidal,” the 36-year-old says. “I just thought, ‘I need a break. I need to get off this treadmill of feeling so awful.’”
Diagnosed with the thyroid situation Hashimoto’s illness, Knight felt “embarrassed to say anything” about her illnesses at first. “I sort of was in denial,” she admits. After lastly confiding in her husband, Chris, and her physician, she has now discovered a routine that retains her signs beneath management. In addition to taking “the right medicine and supplements,” the Ladygang podcast host sticks to a gluten-free food plan and is an advocate for remedy.
Talking it out, she says, helped her “get over some of the guilt” round being sick. “[I felt] like it was my fault,” she reveals, “like somehow being a woman who was ambitious was ruining my body.” Therapy “really helped me heal my outlook,” she provides. “We work out our bodies at the gym and we need to work out our minds too.”
Today, she needs to share this new perspective — which additionally helped her after an April 17 automobile accident landed her within the hospital with a damaged arm — with the world. As she tells Us, “I’m in a better place than I’ve ever been.”
