Papa John’s looking to drop apostrophe in company name

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Papa John’s might quickly go by the name Papa Johns, dropping the apostrophe because the company continues to transfer away from founder John Schnatter.

According to the web site Ad Age, Papa John’s filed the change with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in late August.

Right now, there aren’t any imminent plans to use the brand new emblem and in accordance to Ad Age, it takes about 4 months to get filings by the patent workplace.

Papa John’s the company is working to restore the picture of the model following the controversy stemming from Schnatter’s racially charged feedback.

Schnatter stepped down as chairman of the company in July however stays its largest shareholder.
